John Nillen

John and Wayne have worked together in the environmental industry for over 20 years. John is a world-class salesman and marketer. 

John spent the first 25 years of his business career in the Basketball industry.  He was an outstanding college player, but just a little small to play in the NBA. He was hired by the Denver Nuggets right out of college and became a prized coach and administrator in their organization.  He was Doug Moe's lead Assistant Coach for a number of years. 

John has coached a high-level European Professional basketball team in Sweden, the Taiwanese National Team, and many high-level youth teams.

Since joining Wayne at Cherokee in 1998, John has participated in the sales process for billions of dollars of environmental projects and assets. 

There is not anyone more capable of bringing billions of dollars of environmental projects to EPN and its Members. 

John is happily married and has two amazing adult daughters. He loves to competitively speed skate, play golf, and help others. 

Dr. Wayne Dorband

Dr. Dorband has over 45 years of experience in the environmental industry.  He has founded or co-founded many companies and is considered one of the historic pioneers in the industry.

Wayne founded ATC, alongside his wife Deb in the late 1970s. Built it to multiple offices and hundreds of employees, and took it public in 1984.  Today ATC is one of the largest environmental consulting companies in the world.

Dr. Dorband was a Co-Founder of the Environmental Risk Insurance Company (ERIC) in the late 1980s. ERIC pioneered the ability of property owners to protect themselves from environmental risk through insurance. Skeptics said it couldn't be done, and ERIC did it.

Wayne pioneered the Brownfields industry in the mid-1990s by Co-Founding Cherokee, which became the largest acquirer of environmentally distressed properties in the world.

Wayne has successfully founded and operated several additional environmental consulting firms (HAZTOX, Esstec, CERM, CEED, Dorband and Associates, etc.) through the years. 

Wayne is truly a visionary in the environmental and ecological world!

He is happily married to Deb of over 38 years, has four amazing adult children, and seven grandchildren.  He loves God, tennis, dogs, running, and much more.
